Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon
The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon series is a multi-event road race weekend held in Roanoke, Virginia. The series includes a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, relay, double and several virtual options, plus a family one mile and a 5K on the Sunday after the main races.
The full marathon is limited to 750 runners and the course records a total elevation gain and loss of 7,430 ft. Organizers use a 7.5 hour overall cut-off and a 6 hour cut-off at mile 22. Runners must maintain roughly a 16:20 minute per mile pace or course marshals may remove them for safety. Course hydration is provided by Tailwind and nutrition is provided by GU Energy.
Teams in the relay event are four-person teams with segment distances of about 7, 9.3, 6.1 and 3.8 miles. Finishers receive medals and shirts and the finish area in downtown Roanoke features a festival atmosphere with local craft beer. Proceeds from the event benefit the Blue Ridge Parkway and multiple local charities. The series is organized by the Roanoke Outside Foundation and sponsored by Foot Levelers.
