The Inaugural Blue Jay 5K
The event is the inaugural Blue Jay 5K, scheduled for September 6, 2026, in Weedville, Pennsylvania. The start and finish are at the Bennetts Valley Senior Center, located at 149 Plum Street.
The course leaves the Senior Center, crosses Route 555 onto Redwood Avenue, continues toward Baumertown, and uses signage to mark a turnaround point at the halfway mark before returning to the Senior Center for the finish.
Event services include on site registration and bib pick up at the Senior Center, with T shirts provided only to those who pre register and distributed on the day of the event. Drinks are available along the route and drinks and snacks are provided afterward at the Senior Center. Restrooms are available at the Senior Center.
All proceeds benefit the Jay Township Recreation Board. The event is presented as part of the annual Labor Day Homecoming weekend celebration. Friday Gas and Oil Full Service is listed as a sponsor and the Bennetts Valley Senior Center is noted as the host location for the start and finish.
