Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run - Little Bennett
The Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run takes place in Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, Maryland. The park is a 3,600-acre wooded area with over 20 miles of trails, streams, and camping. It is located about 30 miles west of Washington, D.C., off Interstate 270.
Participants can choose between two trail running distances: a 5K+ (3.7 miles) and a 10K (6.2 miles). The courses follow twisty, single-track hiking trails with hills and stream-side sections. The 5K+ course, while slightly longer than a standard 5K, is described as the most beginner-friendly option in the Blue Crab Bolt series. The elevation gain is approximately 330 feet for the 5K+ and 550 feet for the 10K.
The event includes professional race operations, aid stations, medical support, and post-race food such as breakfast burritos. A free kids' race is also held, with no pre-registration required. Participants receive race swag; for this specific race, it is either a tri-blend t-shirt or custom running socks. Finisher medals are available for an additional fee. Racers who complete all three events in the Blue Crab Bolt series receive a special medal.
Parking is in grass fields near the Prescott Horse Trailer Area, close to the Little Bennett Golf Course. Signage will direct participants from Lewisdale Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
