2026 Block Island Sprint Triathlon

The Block Island Sprint Triathlon is held on Block Island, Rhode Island. The event is limited to a maximum of 500 registered participants and takes place at the Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion on Corn Neck Road. This multi-sport event consists of three distinct segments:

  • 1/4 mile open water ocean swim.
  • 12 mile bicycle ride over rolling hills.
  • 4 mile run on Crescent Beach.

During the bicycle portion of the event, the roads remain open to regular vehicle traffic. Participants must wear helmets at all times during the bike segment; failure to do so results in disqualification.

The event does not offer registration on the day of the race. All participants must register online by the deadline of Thursday, July 31st. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning before the event begins at the beach pavilion.

Logistics for the event include a ferry service from Point Judith. A special charter boat is available for participants on the morning of the race. The organizers recommend that those staying on the island the night before make reservations in advance. The race is subject to cancellation in the event of severe weather or ferry cancellations, and the entry fee is non-refundable. Participants are required to follow all established health protocols in place during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
