Block Island Shad Bloom 10K Trail Race
Held on May 9, 2026 on Block Island, this spring event covers a scenic 10K trail course. The start and finish are at the Block Island School, 15 High Street, Block Island, RI 02807.
The course includes a variety of terrain: dirt roads with stone walls and rolling pastures, a winding track overlooking the Atlantic, and at mile 4 a steep, double tiered, narrow climb known locally as "the wall". Every mile offers different scenery and surface conditions.
The event has a loyal following among island runners. Fees for the event are non refundable. If the ferry is cancelled on race day, the race will be postponed until Sunday, May 10, 2026.
