The 2026 Blizzard Blast 5k & 10k takes place on February 21, 2026, at the Greensprings Interpretive Trail in Williamsburg, Virginia (3751 John Tyler Hwy). The event offers the following distances:

Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, & Back of the Pack Series and the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. The race benefits the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing.
Course, logistics and services
The trail loops through beaver ponds, wetlands and forests and includes wooden boardwalk sections and interpretative signs about the environment, historic events and local wildlife. There are three water stations on the 10k course (approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65) and one water station on the 5k course (approximate mile marker 1.55); Gatorade will be available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located adjacent to the parking lot.
Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive about one hour before their event to check in. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before February 11; sizes for race-day registrants are not guaranteed. Early registration fees listed until January 31 are $30 for the 5k and $45 for the 10k (fees increase after that date; price increases apply on race morning). Results are posted live on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Awards include top three overall men and women and 1st and 2nd in listed age categories.
