Blended Trails - Backyard Ultra
Blended Trails - Backyard Ultra is a looped trail event based at Chilton Manor Farm, Chilton Candover, Hampshire SO24 9TY. The route uses private paths and runs from the event camp around open fields and sheltered woodland, with a highest point at Bugmore Hill Trig Point that provides views across the South Downs and the Candovers. The course includes a short wooded section through Godsfield Copse before returning to base camp.
The format is a Backyard Ultra, with participants repeating the same loop during the event. One account of the course describes a 6.7 km loop; the route features single-track sections, farm tracks and footpaths and is described as undulating. On-site infrastructure reported by participants includes a central camp area for resting and refuelling, a well stocked aid station, marked and marshalled trails, clean toilet facilities and photographers covering the course. Visitors arriving by car are directed to the campground entrance off Spiers Lane, with event signage guiding traffic from Alresford and the Candovers.
Feedback from past editions notes the route is well signed and that single-track sections can create temporary bottlenecks when groups are large. The course offers open landscape views and woodland running within a compact camp-based event layout. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
