Event overview

The minimum age for entry is 18. Pre-entry is required; there is no entry on the day. Entry fees listed are £5.00 for FRA members and £7.00 for non-members. The event has a participant limit of 100 and an entry period that runs from 18 November 2025 to 12 February 2026.

Course and safety

The route starts from Bleasdale Parish Hall and crosses about 1,500 metres of often muddy farmland, passes Bleasdale Circle, then follows farm tracks to a fell gate. From there it climbs steeply over rough grassy ground with hidden rocks to Paddy’s Pole (control point 1). A cut-off time of 55 minutes applies at Paddy’s Pole. The route descends along mixed grass and rock, then climbs to Parlick (control point 2), and returns via a steep grassy descent with possible hidden rocks and reeds. The final 2 km run on farmland and tracks back to the finish. The highest point reaches about 500 metres where conditions can be exposed and severe, including strong winds, freezing temperatures, snow, or ice.

Logistics and kit

Mandatory kit includes full waterproof body cover (top and bottoms), map and compass, whistle, hat, and gloves. Kit checks will be conducted at registration; missing mandatory kit will prevent race registration and participation. Parking is very limited and there is a small charge per car. Environmental sensitivity of the fell ground is noted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
