Blazer Dash
The Blazer Dash is a community fitness event held in Germantown and hosted at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School. The event features multiple participation options tailored for runners, walkers, and children. The course layout utilizes local roads and walking trails, including a section that passes through Kinderberg Park.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K Run: A chip-timed race through roads and trails.
- 2 Mile Walk: An untimed walk along a similar course.
- 200 Yards / 1/4 Mile: A short dash specifically for children aged 10 and under.
The routes are marked with signs and staffed by volunteer course marshals, with a lead bicyclist for the front of the 5K field. One aid station is situated on the course. While no bathrooms are located directly on the path, public facilities are available in Kinderberg Park and inside the school building at the start and finish area.
All registered participants in any category receive a moisture-wicking athletic performance shirt. The 5K Run includes age group awards for the top three male and female finishers in brackets ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Children 10 and under registered for the 5K or 2 Mile events may join the Kid's Dash at no additional cost. Complimentary childcare is provided on-site during the longer events, subject to capacity.
