Blaze of Glory 5K
The Blaze of Glory 5K is a community road race held in Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania and serves as the opening race of the Bucks 5K Series. The event benefits the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company; all proceeds go directly to the fire company. The fire company provides emergency services to portions of Plumstead and Bedminster Townships and responds to a wide range of calls each year. The department's operational budget is 52 percent funded by the two townships while the remaining 48 percent is raised by members through fundraising and donations. The site lists examples of key equipment costs, such as outfitting one firefighter and purchasing air packs, and the replacement range for a fire truck.
The event introduced a redesigned 5K course in 2026 that uses Meetinghouse Road and Curly Hill Road to allow access to the firehouse during the race. Because of the new course, previous course records do not carry over. The event program includes a 5K race, a 1 Mile Fun Color Run that uses nontoxic color powder, and a revised 2nd Alarm Walk that follows the runners on the same 3.1 mile course through local farmland. The race operates online registration only and provides packet pickup at the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company. Parking options include the firehouse area and a nearby Giant store parking lot on Stump Road and Route 611. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
