Blaze of Glory 5K
The Blaze of Glory 5K is a community road race held as the opening event in the Bucks 5K Series. The event has been organized for multiple consecutive years and directs all proceeds to the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company, a volunteer fire department that serves portions of Plumstead and Bedminster Townships and provides mutual aid to surrounding departments.

A new racecourse introduced in 2026 uses Meetinghouse Road and Curly Hill Road to allow open access to the firehouse throughout the event. The 2nd Alarm Walk was revised and extended in 2026 so walkers follow the same route as runners through farmland. The 1 Mile Fun Run is run as a color run using nontoxic color powder.
Registration is handled online and the organizers use digital check in in place of paper forms. Packet pick up and race-day registration are conducted at the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company; packet pick up is scheduled the day before the race at the fire company and there is morning race day pickup at the same location. Parking is available at the firehouse and at a nearby Giant parking lot on Stump Road and Route 611, with a short walk to the firehouse.
The fire company averages about 325 emergency calls per year. Township funding covers roughly 52 percent of its budget; the remaining 48 percent is raised through fundraising and donations. Equipment costs cited by the organizers include more than $3,500 for basic firefighter safety gear and about $6,500 for an air pack. The 2026 event introduced a new course, so previous course records do not apply; the course is associated with USATF certification PA25024NP.
