Blaze of Glory 5K

The Blaze of Glory 5K is an annual community road race hosted by the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company. This event serves as the organization's largest fundraiser, with all proceeds directly supporting the volunteer fire company that provides emergency services to Plumstead and Bedminster Townships. The event features multiple participation options:

  • 5K
  • 2nd Alarm Walk
  • 1st Alarm Fun Run

For 2026, the event introduces a new out-and-back course. The timed 5K route utilizes Meetinghouse Road and Curly Hill Road, passing through the farmland of Plumstead Township. The 2nd Alarm Walk is an untimed 3.1-mile event that follows the same course as the runners. The 1st Alarm Fun Run is a 1-mile color run designed for children and spectators.

The race starts and finishes at the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company station. Because the course design keeps access to the firehouse open, parking is organized at the station as well as overflow locations at the nearby Giant Shopping Center and the Plumsteadville Inn. Both overflow lots are a short walk from the event hub. Registration is open to individuals as well as teams and families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
