Blaze of Glory 5K
The Blaze of Glory 5K is an annual community road race held in Plumstead Township. The event is presented as the opening race of the Bucks 5K Series and is being held for the 19th consecutive year. All proceeds support the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company.
The race program includes multiple participation options:
- 5K road race
- 1 mile Fun Color Run
- 2nd Alarm Walk on the 3.1 mile course
The event introduced a new 5K course in 2026 that uses Meetinghouse Road and Curly Hill Road. This change was made to keep access to the firehouse open throughout the event and to simplify arrival and departure for participants. Walkers on the 2nd Alarm Walk follow the same 3.1 mile course through farmland in Plumstead Township. The 1 mile Fun Color Run uses non toxic color powder.
Registration is handled online only; registration for the 2027 race is noted as closed. Packet pickup and race day registration take place at the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company on the days immediately before and the day of the race. Parking is available at the firehouse and at the Giant parking lot at Stump Road and Route 611; Stump Road access to the firehouse remains open during the event.
The Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company responds to about 325 emergency calls per year. Proceeds from the event help fund safety equipment and other operating needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
