Blaze of Glory 5K
The Blaze of Glory 5K is a community road race that serves as the opening event of the Bucks 5K Series, a 501c3 nonprofit series of races. The event has run for multiple consecutive years and supports the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company; all proceeds go directly to the fire company to fund safety equipment and operations.
The event format includes multiple participatory options and community-oriented features. In 2026 the race adopted a new 5K course that uses Meetinghouse Road and Curly Hill Road to keep firehouse access open during the event. The 2nd Alarm Walk now follows the same 3.1 mile course through farmland in Plumstead Township. The 1 Mile Fun Run is a color run that uses nontoxic color powder.
Registration is handled online only. Packet pick up is organized at the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company, with a pickup session the day before the race and additional race-day pickup at the firehouse. Parking options include on-site space near the firehouse and the Giant parking lot at Stump Road and Route 611, a short walk from the firehouse.
The Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company responds to several hundred emergency calls per year. Fundraising through the race helps cover costs such as basic firefighter gear, air packs, and vehicle replacement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
