Blackpool Aquathlon (Junior & Senior)
The Blackpool Aquathlon is a multisport event taking place at the Palatine Leisure Centre. The competition is part of the Northwest Junior Series and combines a swimming segment with a run. The swim portion is held in an eight-lane, 25m competition pool. Following the swim, participants transition to a run held on a dedicated cycle track, which ensures a traffic-free environment for all competitors.
The event utilizes chip timing to record participant results. On-site facilities include easy parking, and water stations and sweets are provided for athletes. Participants receive a medal upon completion of their race, and professional finish line photography is available.
The competition includes several distance options based on age groups:
- TriStart (Age 8): 50m Swim / 600m Run
- TriStar 1 (Ages 9-10): 150m Swim / 1.5km Run
- TriStar 2 (Ages 11-12): 250m Swim / 2km Run
- TriStar 3 (Ages 13-14): 400m Swim / 2.5km Run
- Youth (Ages 15-16): 400m Swim / 2.5km Run
- Super Sprint (Adults/Youth): 500m Swim / 2.5km Run
