Event Overview
The Blackpool Aquathlon is a multi-discipline sports event held at the Palatine Leisure Centre in Blackpool. It features a swim segment in an eight-lane 25-metre competition pool, followed by a run on a traffic-free cycle track. The event is part of the Northwest Junior Series and uses chip timing.
Distances and Categories
The event offers several race options categorized by age:
- TriStart, Age 8: 50m swim / 600m run.
- TriStar 1, Ages 9 & 10: 150m swim / 1.5km run.
- TriStar 2, Ages 11 & 12: 250m swim / 2km run.
- TriStar 3, Ages 13 & 14: 400m swim / 2.5km run.
- Youth, Ages 15 & 16: 400m swim / 2.5km run.
- Super Sprint: 500m swim / 2.5km run.
All junior categories from TriStart to Youth require specific age eligibility based on the year-end cut-off. A senior category for participants aged 15 and over is also available.
Event Information
On-site parking is available. Registered participants receive a McA series medal. Water stations and sweets are provided during the event, and professional photos are taken at the finish line.
