Event details
The Blackpool Aquathlon (Junior & Senior) is scheduled for 22 March 2026 at Palatine Leisure Centre, St Annes Road, Blackpool, FY4 2AP. The event is organised by MCA Fitness & Events and forms part of the Northwest Junior Series. The swim takes place in a 25 m competition pool with eight lanes and is followed by a run around the centre's cycle track, keeping the running section away from traffic. The event will be chip timed. On-site parking is available.
Race formats and entry
Race categories cover junior age groups, youth and senior participants. Distances and ages are:
- TriStart (Age 8) - 50 m swim / 600 m run
- TriStar 1 (Ages 9 & 10) - 150 m swim / 1.5 km run
- TriStar 2 (Ages 11 & 12) - 250 m swim / 2 km run
- TriStar 3 (Ages 13 & 14) - 400 m swim / 2.5 km run
- Youth (Ages 15 & 16) - 400 m swim / 2.5 km run
- Super Sprint - 500 m swim / 2.5 km run
On-the-day entry fees are listed from £20 to £30 depending on category. Participants receive a McA series medal; water stations and sweets are provided. Finish line photos are available.
