About the race
Black Spur Ultra is a mountain ultramarathon held in Kimberley, BC on August 28-29, 2027. The event uses the local trail network and is hosted at Kimberley Alpine Resort, with trails accessible from the resort and the edge of town.

The route is run entirely on trail with no pavement, featuring winding technical single track and large climbs through rugged mountain terrain. Elevation gain and loss are listed as 2,230 m for the 54k and 4,460 m for the 108k. The 108k allows teams of up to six; the 54k allows teams of two or three. Solo finishers on the full course may use the result as a UTMB qualifier. A Kids Race is offered.
Race support is organized around a central transition area at Kimberley Alpine Resort where solo runners and teams may use a drop bag; the transition area is staffed and provides water and snack food. Each stage includes one staffed checkpoint roughly at the halfway point with water and snacks; caching gear at checkpoints is not permitted. A safety team of EMTs and paramedics provides medical support.
Registration is capped at 500 racers with a registration deadline of August 17, 23:59 MST or when full. Entrants receive a race shirt, post-race meal and awards access, complementary race photos, and live timing and tracking. Solo finishers receive a Black Spur award and relay finishers receive a custom medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
