Black Rocks Fell Race
Black Rocks Fell Race is organised by Matlock Athletic Club and is based at Matlock Rugby Club, Cromford Meadows near Matlock. The route is mostly on good trails and follows the canal tow path to High Peak Junction. There the course turns right and climbs to the trig point on Cromford Moor above Black Rocks, then returns along the same route to finish in Cromford Meadows.
The distance is 9.9 km / 6.1 miles with a total climb of 250 m (about 820 ft). The course is marked. Entry is by online advance registration with payment at the time of registration; there are no entries on the day. The entry fee is £6.50, the minimum age is 16 years, and the event is limited to 300 participants. Previous years' results for the event are recorded and published by the organising club.
