Event Overview
The Black Rocks Fell Race is a trail and fell running event organized by Matlock Athletic Club. The race starts and finishes at Cromford Meadows, near Matlock.
Course Details
The route is approximately 9.9 km (6.1 miles) long. It begins by following the canal towpath before turning right at High Peak Junction for the main climb. This ascent passes the prominent Black Rocks feature and finishes at the trig point on Cromford Moor. The total climb for the course is 250 meters (820 feet). The return leg follows the same path back to the start at Cromford Meadows. The course is marked.
Practical Information
The entry fee is £6.50. Registration is online and in advance only; no entries are accepted on the day. The race has a participant limit of 300. The minimum age for participants is 16 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
