Black Forest Ultra - North Bend, PA
The Black Forest Ultra is a 100K trail race held in North Bend, Pennsylvania. The course runs on sections of the Black Forest Trail through the mountains of the Pennsylvania Wilds and takes runners through a range of forest types, including pine plantations, giant hemlocks, and red spruce in peak fall color.
The route is a lollipop course with more than 13,400 ft of total elevation gain. Some climbs exceed 1,000 ft in under a mile. The course direction reverses each year, so the majority of the elevation gain alternates between the front and back halves of the route. The event uses a strict 19 hour cutoff. Crews, pacers, and spectators are not permitted.
