Black Excellence 5K
Black Excellence 5K is scheduled for May 16, 2026 in Lynn, Massachusetts at Grace Methodist Church, 374 Broadway. Registration is not yet open. The event is presented by the North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc., a not-for-profit organization focused on celebrating Juneteenth, centering Black American culture, and supporting community education and storytelling. The organization is a 501(c)(3); donations support program and operating costs.
The event offers both in-person and virtual participation. Amenities listed include live/text/email results, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed three weeks in advance. In-person bib pickup is handled on site and a bib number is required for pickup; last-minute registrants within 24 hours receive their bib number by text. Virtual bibs are mailed the Monday before the event with a 3–5 day delivery allowance. Virtual participants may upload finish times and photos from Race Day through the following Sunday. Options suggested for tracking distance include measured tracks (4 laps = 1 mile), treadmill, MapMyRun, and Strava. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers under 18 and the top three male and female finishers over 18. Results and finish-line media are available online the same day.
