Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k
The Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k is presented by Hunter Subaru and takes place in Hendersonville, North Carolina at 801 4th Ave E on October 11, 2026. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and is part of the Appalachian Trilogy series. Both courses are USATF sanctioned and certified.

The half marathon course records less than 400 feet of elevation gain. Both courses run largely on a greenway and are described as mostly flat and well marked. Chip timing is used for accurate results and organizers provide complimentary race photos.
Race entries include a commemorative finisher medal and event shirts for registrations completed before September 13. Additional event provisions listed by the organizer include a Hunter Subaru goody bag, complimentary beer for participants 21 and older at Oklawaha Brewing, post-race snacks including apple cider donuts from Bright Branch Farms, and one-of-a-kind prizes for overall and age group winners.
