Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k, Hendersonville NC
The Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k takes place in Hendersonville, North Carolina on October 11, 2026. The event is presented by Hunter Subaru and is staged at Jackson Park, 801 4th Ave E, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Both the half marathon and the 8k are USATF sanctioned and certified.

A virtual option is offered for both distances. The half marathon course has less than 400 feet of elevation gain and is described as mostly flat and very well marked along a greenway. The course is spectator friendly. The race is the fourth event in the Appalachian Trilogy Series.
Race entries include a commemorative finisher medal and a custom dri-fit event shirt if registered by September 13, 2026; the half marathon shirt is a long sleeve style and the 8k shirt is short sleeve. Entries also include a Hunter Subaru goody bag, chip timing, complimentary race photos, and a complimentary beer for participants age 21 and over at Oklawaha Brewing. One-of-a-kind prizes are awarded to overall and age group winners.
Packet pickup is available at Oklawaha Brewing and at Jackson Park. A Black Bear Fall Market will take place on race day at Jackson Park featuring local artisans, live music, food vendors, and fall treats. Bright Branch Farms will provide apple cider donuts and additional post-race snacks and beverages will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
