Event Details

The 7th Annual Black Bear Half Marathon and 8k takes place in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The event is presented by Hunter Subaru. Participants can choose from two in-person race distances: a half marathon (13.1 miles) and an 8k. Both courses are USATF sanctioned and certified. The half marathon course has less than 400 feet of elevation gain and is described as mostly flat and very well-marked, taking place on a greenway.

A virtual participation option is available for both distances. This race is the fourth event in the Appalachian Trilogy Series.

For those who register before a deadline, a race shirt is included: a long sleeve dri-fit shirt for the half marathon and a short sleeve dri-fit shirt for the 8k, both available in unisex and women's sizes. Other inclusions are complimentary race photos, a Hunter Subaru goody bag, and complimentary beer (for participants 21+) at Oklawaha Brewing.
