BKM 4 Life Black Maternal Health 5K

The 2nd Annual BKM 4 Life Foundation Black Maternal Health 5K is a timed event held in May 2026 on the campus of SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis in Bridgeton, Missouri. The in-person course is a double loop around the hospital perimeter.

The event highlights challenges and outcomes that Black mothers face during pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period. The race notes that Black women are three to four times more likely to die during childbirth and frames the event as a fundraising effort to raise awareness and drive action to improve care for mothers and babies.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit The Family Birthplace at SSM Health DePaul Hospital by supporting programs and resources aimed at improving maternal health outcomes. The event offers both an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a virtual 5K Run/Walk, allowing participants to choose how they take part.
