Bit of Hope Ranch: 5K Trail Run, 2K Walk, & Half-Pint Run
This event on October 9, 2027 takes place at Bit of Hope Ranch, 5001 CR Wood Road, Gastonia, NC, on the ranch's 50-acre property. The program includes on-site and virtual options across several distances.
The certified 5K Trail Run follows natural trails with rolling hills and varied terrain. The course passes through wooded hardwood forests, includes waterfront views, and contains a short stretch of quiet roadway. The 2K Walk is a non-timed, scenic route over varied terrain and gentle hills that stays on ranch trails.
A Half-Pint Race for children ages 10 and under covers roughly 400–800 meters and is also non-timed; participants receive a finisher ribbon and a shaved ice treat. The 5K Virtual Run may be completed on any course; participants must submit proof of distance and time by October 9, 2027. Virtual entries are not eligible for awards or race shirts.
Additional event notes: the event is scheduled rain or shine but may be delayed or canceled for lightning or other dangerous weather. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the racecourse due to active ranch operations and natural terrain. Registration opens October 14, 2026; specific registration deadlines and fees vary by event.
