Bishops Stortford Running Festival
The Bishops Stortford Running Festival is a multi-distance athletic event held in the heart of Bishop's Stortford. The event takes place in the scenic surroundings of Castle Park and Grange Paddocks. Participants can choose from three distinct distances, all of which are UKA accredited and chip-timed to ensure accurate results.
Available distances include:
- Half Marathon: A long-distance race consisting of four loops plus an extension for participants aged 17 and over.
- 10K: A mid-distance race consisting of two loops for participants aged 15 and over.
- 5K: A flat, single-loop course for participants aged 11 and over.
The festival features a central village located at Town Park Sworders Field. This hub includes a variety of food and drink vendors, live music, and family-oriented activities. On-site facilities include baggage drop tents, permanent toilets at The Terrace Cafe, and portable toilets within the event village. Water stations are positioned along the course, and additional water is provided at the finish line.
Every finisher receives a unique themed medal and post-race goodies. Official race photos are also provided to all participants. While several public car parks such as Northgate End and Jackson Square are located nearby, the use of cycling or public transport is recommended to reduce local traffic congestion.
