Birds Hill Trail Series
The Birds Hill Trail Series is a summer, Thursday-evening three-race series held at Birds Hill Provincial Park on Treaty 1 Land just north of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The series includes three distances:
- 5k Aspen Dash
- 13+k-ish Bluestem
- 8k Esker
Cup Free Race - hydration and food are available only at the finish line. There will be no water on route and racers are encouraged to carry their own water and supplies.
Series registration options include an early-bird period and a regular period, plus limited individual race week or race day registrations. UltraSignup fees and tax are added at checkout. The series is capped at 100 registrations. There are no refunds or deferrals, including cancellations due to COVID-19 or trail closures.
The route is flagged with orange flagging, which will be on the left-hand side. The start location is Group Use Area #1 site 7.
Entry includes marked routes, bibs with logo and name, first aid support at the finish, post-race homemade goodies, and a Birds Hill Trail Series finisher patch for participants who complete all three races. Series winner awards are based on points and require participation in all three races.
If a participant cannot finish or becomes lost, they are responsible for returning to the finish area. Volunteers will sweep flagging but will not pick runners up on the trail. Participants are responsible for carrying adequate fluids, proper gear and first aid, and for assisting others if needed. Trails used in the series are known for wasps and hornets; allergic participants should take precautions and carry necessary medication.
