Bimblers Bluff 50K
The Bimblers Bluff 50k is an off road foot race in southern Connecticut that starts at Guilford Lakes School, 40 Maupas Rd, Guilford, and passes through several inter-connected woodland preserves. The route is made entirely of rolling forest roads and single track that can be extremely rocky. The course does not require repeating the same loop multiple times.
The event is intended as an adventure and a challenge. Organizers advise that participants have sufficient trail running experience, such as a recent road or trail marathon. Registration is scheduled to be open from May 2026 until race day or until available entries are filled. The race date is Oct 18th 2026.
All entrants receive a goodie bag with a bib number and race shirt. Finishers who complete the course within the 10 hour time limit receive a unique finisher award. There are additional awards for the overall male and female finishers. The event is operated as a not for profit; all proceeds are donated to local land conservation charities and the organizers acknowledge support from local conservation trusts, commissions, land trusts, and municipal agencies including the Durham Conservation Commission, Guilford Land Conservation Trust, Guilford Conservation Commission, Guilford Sportsmens Association, Madison Land Trust, Middlesex Land Trust, the towns of Guilford and Madison, the Regional Water Authority, and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection.
Volunteer roles include staffing aid stations and course sweeping, and volunteer service may count as credit hours for other ultra distance event requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
