Bimblers Bluff 50K
The Bimblers Bluff 50K will take place on Oct 18, 2026. It is an off road foot race that starts at Guilford Lakes School, 40 Maupas Rd, Guilford, and passes through several inter‑connected woodland preserves in southern Connecticut.
The course consists entirely of rolling forest roads and single track with sections that can be extremely rocky. The route does not require repeating the same loop multiple times, and much of the terrain is natural trail surface rather than paved roads.
Organizers indicate participants should have sufficient running experience, for example completion of a recent road or trail marathon. The race has a 10 hour time limit for finishers to receive a finisher award. All entrants receive a goodie bag containing a bib number and a race shirt. There are additional awards for overall male and female finishers.
The event is operated as a nonprofit and all proceeds are donated to local land conservation charities. Organizers acknowledge support from local conservation commissions, land trusts, town governments, and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. Volunteer roles include aid station support and course sweeping, and volunteer participation can be used for credit toward other ultra distance volunteer requirements.
