Bimblers Bluff 50k
The Bimblers Bluff 50k is an off‑road foot race held on October 18, 2026, that begins at Guilford Lakes School, 40 Maupas Road, Guilford. The route passes through several inter-connected woodland preserves in southern Connecticut and is made up entirely of rolling forest roads and single track that can be extremely rocky. The course does not require completing the same loop multiple times.
The event is intended as an adventure and a test of sustained endurance. Organizers advise that entrants have recent long-distance running experience, such as a completed road or trail marathon. All entrants receive a goodie bag containing a bib number and race shirt. Finishers who complete the course within the 10 hour time limit receive a unique finisher award. Additional awards recognize overall male and female finishers.
Registration is open until race day or until the entry limit is reached. The event operates as a 100 percent not for profit effort with proceeds donated to local land conservation charities. The organizers acknowledge support from local conservation commissions, land trusts, municipal partners, the Regional Water Authority, and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection.
Volunteer registrations are accepted; volunteer service can count as credit toward volunteer hour requirements for other ultra distance events. Typical volunteer roles include staffing aid stations and course sweeping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
