Billy Goat Gallop

The Billy Goat Gallop is a trail running event held in Wynyard, Stockton-on-Tees. The course covers a distance of 6.5 miles over undulating terrain. Participants navigate a single loop that includes a variety of surfaces such as farm tracks, woodland paths, and scenic trails along the main walkway.

The route specifically loops through Brierley Woods and Thorpe Woods. Organized by Billingham Running Club, the race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and operates under UK Athletics rules. The event has an entry limit of 150 participants, and registration is restricted to runners aged 16 years and older.

Race headquarters are located at Wynyard Woodland Park. On-site facilities include water stations and toilets; however, there are no changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage areas provided. The course does not feature distance markers and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Dogs and pushchairs are not permitted on the course.
