Billings Skyline Races
The Billings Skyline Races take place on a variety of paved paths and trails within Billings, Montana. The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 30K (18.6 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The course begins by taking runners to the top of the sandstone Rimrocks. The route includes the Skyline Trail, which follows a sandstone ridge and provides views of the Yellowstone Valley and the Beartooth Mountains. The path features moderate elevation changes throughout these early sections.
Participants then move onto Skyway Drive, a newer segment of the course characterized by rolling hills, gentle curves, and open terrain. Both race distances then utilize the Alkali Creek Trail. This specific section follows a creek bed and provides a shaded environment for the runners. The final portion of the course leads toward the finish line located at Two Moon Park.
