Event
The Billings Skyline Races take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, on the Skyline Trail in Billings, MT 59105. The event offers two distances:
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, entry fee $65.
- 30K - 18.6 miles, entry fee $75.
The half marathon is described as a loop with rolling terrain. The 30K extends that loop with additional elevation and distance.
Course
The route runs on paved paths along the Rimrocks sandstone ridge and includes moderate elevation changes. The Skyline Trail section provides panoramic views of the Yellowstone Valley and the Beartooth Mountains. Runners then connect to Skyway Drive - a newer path with gentle curves, rolling hills, open terrain, and distant mountain backdrops. Both distances loop into the Alkali Creek Trail, follow a shaded stretch along the creek, and return toward the finish at Two Moon Park.
