About the race
BigSky is the final event in the Classic Element Trail Series, inspired by the element Air. It is based at Hyde Common, Frogham, near Fordingbridge in the New Forest National Park and showcases wide open plains and winding forest trails with long horizon views.
The course starts from the viewpoint at Hyde Common and is fully marked and marshalled. Routes finish with a run along Hampton Ridge back to Hyde Common. Aid station provision varies by distance: there are also intermediate water stations on course. All aid stations will offer sweet and savoury snacks, vegan options, water and flat coke; the event operates as a cupless event.
Mandatory kit requirements include carrying at least 500 ml of fluid. Hydration vests and handheld soft flasks are permitted. Runners are advised to carry clothing appropriate for changing conditions and to download the GPX file of the route, since arrows on course can be tampered with. A bag drop tent will be available on the day.
Logistics notes: parking is provided at Harry’s Field Campsite on Abbots Well Road. Canicross entries are not accepted. Cut off times are 4.5 hours for the 18 mile, 7 hours for the marathon and 8.5 hours for the 50k ultramarathon.

Precision Fuel & Hydration supplies PH 1000 at aid stations and two PFH gels are available at registration. Classic Element T-shirts are available by pre-order only.
