Event Overview
The Red, White and Blue Half Marathon in Waco is hosted by Bigfoot Running Company. It takes place at Indian Springs Park. The event features several race distances, a virtual run option, and a Kids Dash.
Distances
- Kids Dash: A non-timed, approximately 50-meter dash for children 10 and under. It includes a t-shirt, medal, and a special recognition pin.
- 2 Mile Run: A non-chip-timed race that includes a t-shirt and medal.
- 4 Mile Run: A chip-timed race with awards for top finishers.
- 8 Mile Run: A chip-timed race with awards for top finishers.
- Half Marathon: A chip-timed race covering 13.1 miles with awards for top finishers.
- Volunteer then Run 4 mi: A limited option allowing participation in the 4-mile run after volunteering.
- Virtual Run: An option to participate remotely.
Event Details
All finishers receive a race t-shirt and a medal. For the 4 Mile, 8 Mile, and Half Marathon events, the first overall male and female finishers receive a Bigfoot trophy. First-place Masters (age 40+) finishers in these distances receive a special recognition pin. Standard age group awards are given for many categories.
A race DJ provides music and announces runners. Snacks and water are available at the finish line, and multiple aid stations are located on the course. The course may include paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event.
Volunteer Opportunities
Various volunteer roles are available, such as water station attendant, course monitor, finish line helper, and even a Bigfoot mascot. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt and a choice of a free future race entry or a gift card. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
