Event Overview
The Bear Country Night Trek is a nighttime trail running event held in Cameron Park in Waco, Texas. The event takes place over two nights. Participants can choose from several distances run on single-track trails. The event is part of the Texas Summer Night Series, which consists of eight races across Texas. Completing three of the series races earns a set of collectible medals.
Distances and Schedule
The event offers multiple distances on separate nights:
- 5K
- 10K
- 15K
- Half Marathon
- 10K RUCK (a rucking event)
There are races on both Friday and Saturday nights. Packet pickup for all races is available before the start times each day.
Course Details
The courses use the dirt and rocky single-track trails in Cameron Park. The terrain is described as hilly, with an elevation gain of approximately 1,300 feet for a 15K loop. The event is a "no cup" race, meaning participants must provide their own water-carrying system, as cups are not served at aid stations.
Participant Inclusions
Registration includes a Bear Country Night Trek tri-blend T-shirt. Participants in the 10K RUCK event receive a special patch. The event features aid stations with food and hydration, course photography, and a fully marked and supported course.
