About the race
Heroes and Villains Half Marathon in Tulsa is presented by Bigfoot Running Company and takes place on 23rd Street in Tulsa, OK. The event includes multiple race options, a costume contest with prizes, postrace awards, and volunteer roles.
All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a race shirt. Race offerings include:
- Kids Dash - 20 yards, untimed, includes tee, medal, recognition pin
- 1 Mile - untimed fun run for all ages
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer Then Run - 5K entry for volunteers, limited to first five sign-ups
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles option
A costume contest occurs before the races with prizes that include a $25 gift card, a free future race entry, and a Bigfoot Prize Pack. Standard awards for chip timed races include Bigfoot trophies for 1st overall male and female, age group pins for top finishers, and masters recognition pins for 40 plus competitors. Event amenities listed by the organizer include a live DJ announcing runners, race shirts and custom swag, finish line photos, and snacks and refreshments at the Race Rally Tent.
Courses use local park and greenbelt trails, mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt sections, and aid stations are available. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race start. The event proceeds rain or shine and has a no refund policy with options to transfer registration to a virtual event or another date or to a friend.
