Event Overview

The Tulsa Urban Adventure is a self-navigated running tour that highlights various iconic sights throughout Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event features a course consisting of a 25 mile loop, including a 1.2 mile out and back section for participants completing the marathon distance. The terrain is primarily flat to gently rolling and utilizes city sidewalks for the majority of the route.

Distance Options

Participants can choose from several endurance distances:

  • 26.2 miles (1 loop)
  • 50 miles (2 loops)
  • 75 miles (3 loops)
  • 100 miles (4 loops)

Course Conditions and Navigation

This event is not a traditionally marked race. Participants are provided with a map and turn-by-turn directions to navigate the city. The course remains open to the public, meaning runners will encounter vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Safety requirements include carrying a cell phone, the provided direction sheet, and a hydration pack or bottle with at least a 20 oz capacity. Music listening devices are prohibited at night for safety and situational awareness.

Support and Logistics

Aid stations are facilitated through local Quik Trip locations approximately every 2-3 miles, where runners use a provided debit card to purchase supplies. A central aid station at the start and finish location provides water, sports drinks, and basic snacks. Participants are encouraged to be self-reliant and may utilize a crew or pacers. Pacers are permitted after the first 25 mile lap. The total cutoff time for all distances is 34 hours.

Finishers

Runners who register for the 100 mile or 50 mile distances but cannot complete their full goal may stop after any loop and receive a finisher medal for the distance actually completed. All finishers receive a race shirt and commemorative medals or buckles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
