Theme and Activities
The event has a strong 1980s nostalgia theme. A pre-race costume contest is held, with categories for best overall look, best group, and most authentic outfit. A live DJ plays 80s music throughout the morning. Post-race snacks and refreshments are provided.
Course and Location
The courses use paved trails and park paths, with some sections possibly on mixed surfaces like crushed granite or dirt paths. Aid stations with water are available on the course. The event is held in public spaces where participants may encounter other park users.
Volunteer Information
There are two volunteer options. The "Volunteer Then Run" option allows participants to help with pre-race tasks, run the 5K, and assist post-race; it is limited to 5 spots. The "Full Race Volunteer" role is for non-runners and offers a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future free race entry or a gift card. Various volunteer roles are described, including water station, course monitor, finish line helper, and even a Bigfoot mascot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
