Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - San Antonio
The event takes place at O. P. Schnabel Park in San Antonio, Texas, and offers multiple race options on park and green belt trails. Course surfaces may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Aid stations are positioned on course to provide water and assistance.
Post-race amenities include a race rally tent with snacks and refreshments, a DJ, live awards announcements, and event staff handling results and awards at the registration tent immediately after finish. A shirt guarantee applies for registrations completed at least ten days before the event; availability after that date may be updated.
Volunteer roles are available across the event and include water station attendants, course monitors, finish line helpers, packet pickup assistants, sweepers, lead bike, mascot, and floaters. Full race volunteers receive a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP race access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card. A Volunteer then Run option is offered for the 5K; it is limited to the first five sign ups and includes a custom chip timed bib, tee, and finisher medal. Volunteers are asked to check in about 1.5 hours before the event start.
Standard awards and timing: several distances are chip timed and feature overall trophies, masters recognition pins, and age group award pins. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Kids Dash - approximately 20 yards, not timed, for ages 10 and under.
- 1 Mile - not chip timed, includes tee shirt and medal.
- 5K - chip timed, overall trophies and age group awards.
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) - chip timed, overall trophies and age group awards.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - chip timed, overall trophies and age group awards.
- Virtual Half Marathon option available.
