About the race
The Legacy of Courage Half Marathon is a community running event on 03/13/2027 at Russ Poppe Family Park in Northwest Houston, Texas. The event directly supports the Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program through Knowledge Point Network, with proceeds dedicated to recreational programs and outdoor activities for disabled veterans.
The course uses mixed surfaces and moves through shaded pine forest, park roads, crushed granite trails, winding bike paths, and wooded sections. Amenities and event features include live results and awards at the registration tent, medals and shirts for all finishers, age group and overall awards, a live awards ceremony, a DJ at start/finish, finish line snacks and refreshments, and an announcer for finishers. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before race start. Shirts are guaranteed if requested seven days before the event. The races proceed rain or shine. Organizers note that routes pass through public park spaces and other park users may be present.

- Kids Dash - 50 m
- 1 Mile - 1 mile
- 5K - 3.11 miles
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles
- Volunteer then Run 5K option - 3.11 miles
Volunteer roles and benefits are provided, including a limited Volunteer then Run spot and non-running volunteer rewards such as a shirt and choice of a future race entry or a $20 gift card. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
