Bigfoot Dash 5K
The Bigfoot Dash 5K is a community 5 kilometer running race in Marion, North Carolina on August 29, 2026. The event uses Marion Elementary School at 209 Robert Street as the start and finish area, with the side parking lot near the library noted as the gathering location. Proceeds from the race support the general fund at Marion Elementary School.
The published route runs through Marion and includes Robert Street, McDowell Avenue, Court Street, Woodland Drive and a loop of the Woodland Drive neighborhood, then returns via Pineview Street, Clay Street, Greenlee Street, Euclid Avenue, Tremont Street, Alabama Avenue, Peavine Trail and State Street before finishing back at the school.
Registration opens March 25, 2026 and closes April 30, 2026. The registration fee is $30. All participants receive a race t shirt and a finisher medal. Shirt sizes can be guaranteed only if ordered by July 15, 2026.
Packet pick up is available the day before at Marion Elementary School or on race morning. Parking is available at the church across the street and along surrounding roads near the school.
Awards recognize the top three male and top three female overall finishers and the top three in each age group: 0-5, 6-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
