Bigfoot Dash 5K
The Bigfoot Dash 5K is a community road race held in Marion, North Carolina on August 29, 2026. The event is based at Marion Elementary School, 209 Robert Street. Entry requires a registration fee of $30. Registration opens March 25, 2026 and closes April 30, 2026.
Packet pick-up is offered at Marion Elementary School the day before the race, August 28, and also on race morning at the school. Parking is available at the church across the street on both sides and along surrounding roads near the school.
The course starts and finishes at the school parking lot and follows a loop through Marion. The route proceeds from Robert Street onto McDowell Avenue, continues through Court Street toward EMMS, then follows Woodland Drive through the neighborhood before returning to McDowell Avenue. Runners continue onto Pineview Street, Clay Street, Greenlee Street, Euclid Avenue, Tremont Street, Alabama Avenue, Peavine Trail and State Street, then return to McDowell Avenue and back to the school.
Awards will recognize the top three males and top three females overall and the top three in each age group: 0–5, 6–10, 11–14, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59 and 60-plus.
