About the race
The Bigfoot Classic takes place at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The event offers a range of race options, a virtual distance, a crowd-voted costume contest, awards, and volunteer opportunities.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash, about 50 meters, for ages 10 and under, not timed.
- 1 Mile, for all ages, not chip timed, includes shirt and medal.
- 5K, 3.11 miles, chip timed, with overall trophies and age group awards.
- 10K, 6.22 miles, chip timed, with overall trophies and age group awards.
- 15K, 9.33 miles, chip timed, with overall trophies and age group awards.
All finishers of all distances receive a medal and shirt. Chip timing is used for the longer distances listed above. Standard age group awards are specified for the 5K, 10K, and 15K including overall male and female trophies and awards by age brackets and masters recognition.
The event includes a crowd-voted Legendary Beast Costume Contest; the winner receives the Legendary Beast trophy, a prize pack, and a free entry to a future Bigfoot Classic. Aid stations are provided on course for water and assistance. Course surfaces may include paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Packet pickup is offered in the period before the event. Volunteer roles include course monitors, water station attendants, finish line helpers, lead bike, mascot, and a limited Volunteer then Run option.
