Bigfoot Classic - Fort Worth
The Bigfoot Classic takes place at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The event offers multiple distances and a virtual option, with a mix of paved trails, crushed granite, and some dirt paths along park and green belt terrain.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash about 50 meters for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile not chip timed
- 5K 3.11 miles, chip timed
- 10K 6.22 miles, chip timed
- 15K 9.33 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer then Run 5K limited to the first 10 participants
- Virtual Run 9.33 miles
Chip timing is used for the 5K, 10K, and 15K. All finishers receive a medal and a shirt, subject to a shirt guarantee cutoff. Awards include overall trophies for top finishers, special recognition for masters 40 and over, and age group pins and medals across standard age brackets for the timed distances.
On course support includes aid stations and water stations. The event features on-course photographers, a DJ to announce runners, a race rally tent with snacks and drinks, and a Bigfoot mascot for photos. A crowd-judged Legendary Beast Costume Contest awards a single winner a trophy, a prize pack, and a future race entry. Volunteer roles cover water stations, course monitors, packet pickup, lead bike, sweeper, finish line help, and mascot duties. The event proceeds in all weather.
