Events
The event is the 48th annual Bigfoot Challenge Memorial Day Run/Walk. It takes place on Memorial Day (May 25) in Dansville, Michigan. The main race options are the 5K Run/Walk, the 8K Run, and a virtual 5K Run/Walk.
A Little Foot kids race for children 12 and under is also held. This race takes place on a track, and participants can choose to run one or two laps. The character Bigfoot (Sasquatch) runs one lap with the younger children.
Location and Registration
The event is based at the Dansville High School track at 1264 Adams St, Dansville, MI. Packet pick-up is available the night before the race and on race day. On-site registration is available.
Registration fees increase over time. Early registration for the 5K and 8K starts at $27. A family discount is available for three or more registrants. Participants can also get a free race entry by making a $100 donation before a specified date.
What's Included
All participants receive a race t-shirt and a Bigfoot-themed finishing medal. The kids race participants also receive a custom medal and t-shirt.
Results and Awards
The 5K and 8K races are professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with chip times and live results available. Awards are given in multiple categories:
- Top 3 finishers in each age group receive trophies.
- Overall, Master (40+), Grand Master (50+), and Senior Master (60+) winners in both the 5K and 8K receive large Bigfoot trophies.
Awards are self-serve, though overall winners are announced.
