Event Overview
This is the 39th annual Bigelow Tea Community Challenge, taking place on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event is a fundraiser that supports local non-profit organizations in Fairfield County. The previous year's event raised over $182,000.
Activities
The event includes several different in-person activities:
- 5k Run
- 3k Walk
- Kids' Fun Run (for participants aged 10 and under)
- Virtual Adult Run/Walk
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group for the running participants. A raffle with prizes is also held after the races, for which participants must be present to win.
Location and Schedule
The main event day activities are held at the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in Southport, Connecticut. An early check-in and bib pickup is available the day before at the Bigelow Tea headquarters in Fairfield.
On event day, the Kids' Fun Run begins first, followed by the start of the 5k Run and 3k Walk. An on-site picnic and the awards/raffle ceremony take place later in the morning.
Registration and Inclusions
Registration includes an event T-shirt and a goodie bag filled with items from local and sustainable partners. Race management is provided by MS Running Productions, and timing for the 5k is handled by The Last Mile Racing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
