Event overview
The Big Woods Half Marathon & 10k is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Elverson, PA (843 Park Rd., 19520). The event offers two races:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
Registrations are nonrefundable. Transfer and deferral options are available for fees, including event-to-event transfers and bib transfers. A referral program returns $20 of a registrant's fee after five friends register using the participant's referral link.
Course and logistics
All races start and finish on the trail near the pool by Hopewell Lake in French Creek State Park. The half marathon route uses Lenape, Buzzards, Raccoon, Mill Creek and Blue w/Red Trails. The half marathon includes over 2,000 feet of elevation gain and is described as technical and rocky in sections; it passes Millers Point. The 10k follows the half marathon course for the first 3.2 miles, then splits onto a lollipop-style loop that excludes the "Secret Trail." The 10k has aid stations at approximately mile 1.7 and mile 4.5 and does not include a finishers item. There is a 5 hour time limit for the event. Free parking is available in the lot above the pool and Hopewell Lake. Packet pick up takes place on race morning at the park. The shirt cut-off date is one month before race day. Volunteers support bib pick up, the finish area, and on-course stations and may earn credit toward a future race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
