Big River Race - Pasco, WA
The Big River Race takes place at Chiawana Park in Pasco, Washington on May 29, 2027. The event offers multiple running distances along a paved riverfront trail next to the Columbia River and starts and finishes at the west end of the park. The course is described as flat and follows an out-and-back route to the east on the riverfront path.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) early-start option for runners expecting over 3 hours
- Big River Half Marathon (13.1 miles) standard start; finishers receive a custom medal
- 10K (6.2 miles) out-and-back; three aid stations; finishers receive custom medal
- 5K (3.1 miles) out-and-back; one aid station; finishers receive custom medal
- 1 Mile (free) out-and-back; one water station; untimed fun run; medal for finishers
Aid stations and on-course services vary by distance. The half marathon has six aid stations roughly every two miles with water, electrolyte drink, gels and fruit snacks; the 10K has three aid stations; the 5K has one aid station at the turnaround; the 1-mile fun run has a water station at 0.5 mile. The early-start half marathon notes that participants who expect to take longer than three hours should bring water for the first 1.5 hours before aid stations open. Half registrations include a shirt. Strollers are permitted and are positioned at the back right-hand side at the start.
Along the course there are themed aid stations, music and cheer squads, and post-race music and refreshments in the park. Chiawana Park provides shaded trees, grassy areas and river views. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
