Labor Day Running Tradition in Atlanta
The Big Peach Sizzler 10K & 5K is an annual holiday event held on Labor Day Monday in Atlanta, Georgia. The race features point-to-point, net downhill courses that connect different neighborhoods. Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
The 5 km course begins near the Brookhaven MARTA Station and follows a route from Brookhaven to Buckhead. The 10 km course starts near the Chamblee MARTA Station at the corner of Peachtree Road and Pierce Drive, finishing in the Buckhead Station Shopping Center. Both routes are stroller-friendly and designed for participants of various paces.
A post-race festival is held at Buckhead Station, featuring food, music, vendors, and beverages from StillFire Brewing. Participants receive premium items including a tri-blend race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a finish line towel. Packet pickup is available at various Big Peach Running Co. locations during the week leading up to the race; there is no registration available on the day of the event.
The event serves as a fundraiser for BreatheStrong CF, an organization that provides wellness and fitness support for individuals living with cystic fibrosis. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual "Sizzler on the Go!" option allows participants to complete either distance from any location.
