About the race
The Big House 5K is owned and operated by the Michigan Athletic Department and aims to raise funds and awareness for local non-profit beneficiaries. The event was founded in 2014 and, since then, has raised over $1.4 million to support organizations serving the Washtenaw County community.
In 2025 the event sold out of 12,500 entries and raised $215,000 for six local nonprofit beneficiaries. The race partners with local organizations each year to provide opportunities for those organizations to raise awareness and funds for their causes.
The course begins on State Street, runs through the University of Michigan central campus, and finishes on the 50-yard line of Michigan Stadium. The listed event location is 1201 South Main St., Ann Arbor, MI 48109. The event includes both running and fun run options.
