Big House 5K

Owned and operated by the Michigan Athletic Department, the Big House 5K raises funds and awareness for local nonprofit beneficiaries serving the Washtenaw County community. The event was founded in 2014 and has supported local organizations through its fundraising efforts.

The course begins on State Street, runs through the University of Michigan central campus, and finishes on the 50-yard line of Michigan Stadium. Event programming has included a 5k run and related fun-run activities.

Since its founding, the event has raised over $1.4 million for local nonprofit organizations. In 2025 the race sold out of 12,500 entries and raised $215,000 for six local nonprofit beneficiaries. The event partners with multiple local organizations to provide a platform for raising awareness and funds for their causes.
