Big Door Wine Run Turkey Trot 5k
The event is a chip-timed 5k run/walk held at Big Door Vineyards, 125 Clearwater Trail, White, GA. The course starts and finishes at the winery and follows a two-lap, cross-country style route with areas of uneven footing. The course is open to runners and walkers; participants walking on the first lap should be courteous to those passing on the second lap.
Registration includes a Super Soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, online results, and a pour of wine. Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib; minors do not receive a wine glass or a pour of wine.
The event lists The Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up as the local charity partner. Age group awards are offered for the top three finishers in each age category. Age groups are in 10-year bands: 19 & under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & over. Competitive runners should start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. There will be no age group ceremony; results are posted online and awards must be picked up the day of the event.
Packet pickup is race day only at the winery and opens shortly before the event. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free without registration. Dogs are not permitted on site due to USDA restrictions for the produce and vegetable farm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
