About the race
The Big Beach Challenge is a sand based obstacle event on 12 June 2027 at Weymouth Beach, Dorset. The course features wet and muddy obstacles set on the beach and is designed for participants to take part solo or as part of a team. Participants may skip or go around any obstacle they are not able to complete.
Available course options:
- 5 km course
- 10 km course
The published registration fees and fundraising targets are:
- 5 km course: registration fee £25, fundraising target £180.
- 10 km course: registration fee £30, fundraising target £200.
The minimum age to take part is 14 years. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who also registers and fundraises. Team fundraising is supported and individual targets can be combined into a single team total. Joining a team on the fundraising platform does not count as event entry; each person must register for the event. Team Captains receive details of a registration discount to share with team members.
Practical information includes clothing and kit guidance. Organizers advise light, comfortable clothing that can get wet and muddy, closed toe trainers, and a spare change of clothes. Participants receive a race number by post and will be sent an Alzheimer’s Society t shirt once they have hit their fundraising target. There will be no left luggage facilities on site.
