Bideford Half Marathon
The Bideford Half Marathon is a certified half marathon organised by Bideford Amateur Athletic Club, with a Certificate of Course Accuracy (20/085) and licensing listed as RunEvents TBC. The course starts and finishes close to the club clubhouse and runs through countryside alongside the River Torridge between Bideford and Great Torrington. The route leaves the roads to return along the Tarka Trail and includes a tunnel section.
Entry is limited to 1,200 runners and registration is managed by RaceNation. Entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred. Transfers and registration changes are possible via RaceNation, subject to the organiser’s deadlines in February. Number collection is arranged at the clubhouse on the day before and on race day, and prize presentation takes place on the day of the race only.
Prizes include cash awards for the first six men and women, a cash bonus for a new course record, category trophies from U20 to V75 (1st to 3rd) and a cash prize for category winners up to V75. Event rules specify no walkers, a minimum average pace of 15 minutes per mile with a 3 hour 17 minute course cut-off, and a ban on headphones. Practical facilities include a baggage store, changing rooms and showers in the clubhouse, portable toilets at the venue and nearby public toilets. Refreshments are available at the clubhouse.
