Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra takes place on 20 December 2025 at The Royal Barn, Kirkby Lonsdale (LA6 2AB). The event has a minimum age of 18 and an entry fee of £45. Entries open 10 July 2025 and close 18 December 2025. The event page lists a small number of entries so far.
Route and support
The route is a single loop of 65 km (about 40 miles) with approximately 2000 m of ascent. Most of the route is on footpaths and bridleways, with some boggy sections and about 10 km on tarmac. The route does not pass through towns and includes multiple summits and notable landmarks. Participants must be able to self-navigate using a map or GPS unit; two checkpoints/feed stations are provided on the course. Feed stations will offer hot food, drinks and sweet items. A GPX file is provided to entrants. Mandatory kit will be checked at registration and includes a rucksack or race vest, trail shoes, waterproof jacket and over trousers with taped seams, warm layers, waterproof gloves, map, GPS unit (not phone), compass, whistle, survival bag, small first aid kit, food and water, headtorch with spare batteries, and mobile phone.
