Bewl 15 and 5 Mile
Organised by Wadhurst Runners, this event offers two trail races around Bewl Water in East Sussex. The 15 mile race is the original round Bewl Water route and includes the nature reserve with lakeside views. It follows footpaths and quiet country lanes, with gently undulating sections along the shore and a shorter hilly section on lanes. There is a 4 hour time limit for the 15 mile route.
The 5 mile race follows the first part of the round Bewl route for 2.5 miles before returning along the same route. The 5 mile course is entirely off road.

Runners are supported by marshals and marked routes. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a commemorative Bewl t shirt, and trophies are awarded to leading runners. Cash prizes for the 15 mile event include £100 for first male and female winners rising to £200 if the course record is broken (Men: 01:25:58, Women: 01:37:25), plus £75 and £50 for second and third places. On the day entry fees listed are 15 Mile £40 and 5 Mile £25. Parking is available but weather dependent.
The races support the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSSAA). In 2025 the event raised £6,200 for the charity. Race HQ is located in a field off Blacksmiths Lane, Wadhurst, Sussex TN5 6AZ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
