Bewl 15 & 5 Mile
Organised by Wadhurst Runners, this event offers two off road trail races around Bewl Water in East Sussex. It takes place from a race base on Blacksmiths Lane, Wadhurst, and follows footpaths and quiet country lanes around the reservoir and adjacent nature reserve.

The 15 mile race is the original round Bewl Water route. It begins in Wadhurst, descends to join the round Bewl trail, includes sections beside the shore and a shorter hilly section on quiet lanes, and passes through the nature reserve with lakeside views. There is a four hour time limit for the 15 mile race. The 5 mile route follows the first 2.5 miles of the 15 mile course before returning along the same trail and is entirely off road.
Route maps including GPX files are available to view and download. The races support the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex, which responds to over 3,100 incidents annually; the event raised £6,200 for the charity in 2025. Organisers provide marshals along the course and offer complimentary cake and beer at the finish. Entries include a bespoke finisher medal and commemorative Bewl t shirt, trophies for leading runners, and free parking where weather permits. Cash prizes are offered for the Bewl 15 finishers.
