Firle 5km Handicap Trail Race
This event is a 5 km handicap trail race held in Firle on 27 September 2026. It uses an out and back route along The Old Coach Road track with undulating terrain and views across the South Downs. The surface is approximately 90% trail (hard track) and 10% quiet country lane and unmade road. The race distance is approximate as it is on trails.
A handicap format is used so runners of different abilities start at staggered times; entrants must submit a recent race or parkrun time when entering. Entries are limited to 50 people. The minimum age for competitors is 15. Entry fees are shown on the event entry page and increase shortly before the event.
Facilities at Firle Village Hall include toilets, changing and parking. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places. Tea and cake are provided in the hall after the race. A course map is available on request. Running with dogs is prohibited.
