Firle 5km Handicap Trail Race
The event is a handicap trail race held on Sunday 27 September 2026, starting and finishing at Firle Village Hall. The route is an out and back along The Old Coach Road track with views of the South Downs. The advertised distance is 5 km, with approximately 90% on trail (hard track) and 10% on quiet country lane and unmade road. Because it is a trail course, the distance is approximate.
The race uses a handicap format: slower runners start earlier and faster runners start later. Entrants are asked to submit a recent race or parkrun time for handicap seeding. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places.
Facilities at the village hall include toilets, changing and parking. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Tea and cake are provided in the hall after the run. A course map is available on request. The event has an entry limit of 50 people and a minimum age of 15 on the event date.
Entry fees are shown in the event information and entries are open and close on the dates listed by the organiser. Running with dogs is prohibited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
