Firle 5km Handicap Trail Race
The Firle 5km Handicap Trail Race is a 5 km out-and-back trail run based at Firle, scheduled for 27 September 2026. The route follows the Old Coach Road track and offers views across the South Downs. The race is organised as a handicap format so runners of different abilities start at staggered times based on submitted recent race or parkrun times.
The course is approximately 5 km in length and is mostly off-road: about 90% hard track trail and 10% quiet country lane and unmade road. As a trail event, the distance is approximate and running with dogs is prohibited.
Facilities at Firle Village Hall include toilets, changing and parking. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places, and tea and cake are provided in the hall after the event. A course map is available on request.
Entry is limited to 50 people and the minimum age for competitors is 15 on the event date. Entry fees listed include £10.00 with a higher fee of £15.00 applying from 20 September 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
