Firle 5km Handicap Trail Race
This is a handicap trail race of approximately 5 km held in Firle on 27 September 2026. The route is an out and back along The Old Coach Road track. The terrain is undulating and the course offers views of the South Downs. The surface is about 90% trail on hard track and 10% quiet country lane and unmade road. Because this is a trail event, the distance is approximate.
The race uses a handicap format: slower runners start earlier and faster runners start later. Entrants must submit a recent race time or parkrun time when they enter. Entry is limited to 50 people and the minimum age is 15 on the event date.
Prizes are awarded for first, second and third places. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Toilets, changing and parking are available at Firle Village Hall. Tea and cake are provided in the hall after the race. A course map is available on request. Running with dogs is prohibited.
