Berthoud Day 5K
The Berthoud Day 5K is a community road race held in downtown Berthoud at 3rd Street and Mountain Avenue that opens the Berthoud Day parade. The event welcomes runners, walkers, families, strollers, and well behaved leashed dogs. The course runs through downtown streets; Mountain Avenue will be closed for the parade.
Registration details vary by entry. The timed 5K has a registration fee of $30 and registration opens April 8 with the 5K registration closing May 1. A free Kid's Run option is available for participants 12 and under; free entries are untimed and do not include a shirt. To be timed and receive a shirt, children must register in the main 5K. Unisex, women’s, and youth shirt sizes are offered for registered 5K participants and a guaranteed shirt deadline is Friday, May 15.
Course notes and logistics mention some uneven terrain and recommend using running or off road strollers. Participants with strollers or dogs should position themselves toward the back. Street parking is available nearby and additional parking is provided at New Freedom Outreach Center at 250 Mountain Avenue with access via the alley. All participants receive a swag bag with local vendor coupons including a $2 off community pancake breakfast. Awards are announced on stage during Berthoud Day festivities in categories such as top male, top female, and best costume. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
