Berenloop Terschelling
Berenloop Terschelling is a multi-day running event on Terschelling organized by Stichting Evenementen Terschelling. The event takes place on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026 and includes separate races for children and adults across varied island terrain.
The program on Saturday includes the Jeugdloop for children aged 6 to 12 with distances of 600 m and 1.200 m in age categories 6 to 8 and 9 to 12. There is no official time registration for the Jeugdloop; the first three finishers in each category receive prizes and all participants receive a medal.
Also on Saturday morning the Kleintje Berenloop offers 5 km and 10 km routes that run over bike paths through the forests and dunes near West. The half marathon on Sunday covers 21,1 km and runs from West via the marina and the Hoofdweg to Midsland and Formerum, then through forest, dunes and along the beach back to West, with music and encouragement along the route. The full marathon is 42,2 km and follows a route across the island to the Boschplaat and back, through dunes, forest and over the beach, finishing in West under the Brandaris.
Only the Jeugdloop currently still accepts registrations; other distances are sold out. Changes after 9 September can be made at the race secretariat on site on 31 October and 1 November, using the event change form. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
