Event Overview

The Belmont AAPI Run is a community event featuring a 5K and a 2K race. It aims to raise the voice and visibility of AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) residents. The event is organized by the Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA) and sponsored by local businesses.

Race Details

The event offers two distances:

  • 5K Race: This route is USATF certified and chip-timed. It uses the same course as the Becca Pizzi 5K, starting and ending on the Belmont High School (BHS) track and going through the Winn Brook neighborhood.
  • 2K Race: This route is chip-timed. It uses the same course as the FBE Apple Run 2K, starting and ending on the BHS track and going past Claypit Pond near the school.

Both races are open to runners and walkers. Children aged 10 or under must be accompanied by an adult.

Event Information

The event includes a warm-up session led by Bay State Physical Therapy and a National Anthem performance. Post-race refreshments include fresh bread, bagels, water, and bananas for all runners and spectators. Each runner under 18 also receives an ice cream sandwich. Bay State Physical Therapy offers free massage stretches until 11am.

Awards are provided by Butternut Bake House in Belmont. Categories include top finishers for the 5K and 2K races, age group awards, and team awards for the largest and fastest teams.

Packet pickup is available the day before the race near the Belmont High School entrance. On race day, bib pickup takes place at the Belmont High School Track. Parking is available in the surrounding area and the Claflin Street lot, but not in the BHS lot itself. Multiple porta johns are located outside the track.

The first 350 registered participants receive a superlight "quick-dri" race shirt. Medical support is provided on-site by the Belmont Fire Department EMS Bike Unit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
