Belmont AAPI Run 5K & 2K Race
The Belmont AAPI Run celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2026. Organized by the Belmont Chinese American Association, this community event aims to increase the visibility of Asian American and Pacific Islander residents. The race has become a local tradition in Belmont, alongside other established town races.
Participants can choose between two chip-timed distances:
- 5K Race
- 2K Race
The 5K Race follows a USATF certified route that starts and finishes on the Belmont High School track, winding through the Winn Brook neighborhood. The 2K Race also begins and ends at the high school track and passes along Claypit Pond. For both distances, children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
The event includes professional chip timing with results accessible via QR codes on race bibs. Facilities at the venue include portable restrooms near the track and medical support provided by the Belmont Fire Department EMS Bike Unit. While there is no parking in the high school lot, participants may use nearby street parking or the Claflin Street lot. Post-race refreshments such as bread, bagels, and fruit are provided to participants.
Proceeds from the event support AAPI-focused community programs and the Belmont Media Center. The first 350 registered participants receive a lightweight running shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
