Bellingham Off Road Triathlon
The Bellingham Off Road Triathlon takes place on August 29, 2027 at Lake Padden Park in Bellingham, WA. The event is USAT sanctioned and allows solo competitors or 2- and 3-person relay teams. Transition is on the grass between the parking lot and the swimming beach near the park's west entrance.
The course covers three legs in the same order for every athlete or relay team. The swim is a clockwise freshwater loop in Lake Padden with a self-seeded mass wave start and buoys kept on the swimmer's right. The bike course exits transition onto gravel and moves onto horse trails and singletrack south of the lake, including an Expert Loop with switchbacks. The run is one clockwise lap of the gravel trail around the lake; runners are instructed to keep the lake on their right.
Distances:
- 800 m swim in Lake Padden, clockwise loop, self-seeded mass wave start
- 9 km mountain bike on horse trails and singletrack, includes Expert Loop
- 4.1 km gravel run around the lake, clockwise, keep the lake on the right
Registration opens January 1, 2027. A USAT one-day license is included with each entry. Entry fees listed by the organizer are Individual $105, 2-person relay $165, and 3-person relay $210. Refunds are available until July 1 minus a 15% fee, or entries may be transferred to the following year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
