Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon
The Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon takes place Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Belleville, Illinois. The event is centered at 19 Public Square (Main and First Streets) and uses Main Street and other city roads.
The event includes the following distances:
- Marathon - 26.2 miles
- Half marathon - 13.1 miles
The full marathon is USTAF-certified and accepted as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The full course includes about 10 miles on a paved trail. The half marathon has been designated as the Road Runners Club of America Illinois State Championship event.
Registrants receive an everything T-shirt and a finisher's medal. Goodr sunglasses are provided for a limited number of early registrants. Post-race offerings listed by the organizer include pizza from a local restaurant, a special beer brewed by a local brewery for participants 21 and older, and a DJ.
The event is organized as a non-profit. Proceeds are reinvested into community causes such as a community food pantry, Belleville Parks and Recreation, and a college scholarship fund for Belleville high school students; organizers reported a $20,000 donation from 2025 race proceeds. The race is run by local volunteers affiliated with the Belleville Running Club and Toolen's Running Start.
Registration fees vary by date. Minimum ages are 18 for the full marathon and 13 for the half marathon; participants under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.
