Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon
The Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon takes place in Belleville, Illinois, located a short distance from downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The event features two primary distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
The courses utilize Main Street, known as the longest Main Street in America, along with other city roads. The marathon is a USATF-certified Boston Marathon qualifier and includes a section of approximately 10 miles on a paved trail. The half marathon is designated as the Road Runners Club of America Illinois State Championship Event.
Registrants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Special commemorative items, such as goodr sunglasses, are provided to the first 900 participants. The post-race celebration at 19 Public Square includes pizza from Bennie's Pizza Pub, a custom beer from Shoehorn Brewing for participants aged 21 and older, and entertainment by a DJ.
This non-profit race is organized by volunteers from the Belleville Running Club and Toolen's Running Start. Proceeds from the event are donated to local organizations, including a community food pantry, the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department, and a scholarship fund for local high school students.
