Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon
The Belleville Main Street Marathon and Half Marathon take place in Belleville, Illinois on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The event center is at 19 Public Square (Main and First Streets). The race weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the Belleville Main Street Marathon.
The event offers the following distances:
- Marathon - 26.2 miles; USATF-certified Boston qualifier; about 10 miles on a paved trail.
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles; designated Road Runners Club of America Illinois State Championship Event.
Both courses include Main Street and other city roads. Early registrants were slated to receive promotional sunglasses in limited quantities; organizers note a limited supply remains. All registrants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Post-race amenities listed by the organizer include pizza from Bennie's Pizza Pub, a special beer brewed by Shoehorn Brewing available to participants aged 21 and older, and a DJ.
The event is run as a non-profit. Proceeds are reinvested into local efforts including a community food pantry, the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department, and a college scholarship fund for Belleville high school students. The organizer reports $20,000 was donated from 2025 race proceeds. Volunteer groups named as organizers include the Belleville Running Club and Toolen's Running Start.
Age rules and entry terms: full marathon participants must be at least 18 years old; half marathon participants must be at least 13 years old and minors require parent or legal guardian registration and waiver.
